In its charitable and social activity, the Bank does not limit itself to centralized financing of principal programs, but also provides its employees with an opportunity to participate directly in supporting projects of their choice. In this regard, ROSBANK launched a voluntary corporate program «Everybody Has the Right to Help» offering an easy-to-use interface for making individual donations to a range of pre-approved recipients. The sum of each contribution is doubled by adding the equivalent amount from the Bank’s charity fund. As an important feature, the employees have the right to propose new projects, which allows to extend the outreach of the support. Designed to promote the formation of the corporate culture by uniting individual and company’s priorities, this unique programme was awarded the National public relations prize «Silver Archer».

In 2005 the Bank continue to develop its New Day grant program, which is aimed at supporting non-profit and state-owned organizations helping children.  Organized in cooperation with the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) and the United Nations Foundation, the program is managed by the Russian Mission of the British Charities Aid Foundation (CAF Russia).

New Day is a nationwide program overseen by professional teachers and social workers that allocates funds on the basis of need. Over 36,000 children and 800 organizations throughout Russia have been recipients of these grants.

In the six years of New Day program existence, it has provided US$1 million for projects. According to a Sustainable Development Center survey, the program is having a good long-term effect: within its framework, a great number of rehabilitation and development programs for problem children have been established and continue in the post-grant period.

Supporting the development of national art and culture is also among ROSBANK’s priorities. In particular, its long-lasting cooperation with «Sovremennik» Theatre continue in 2005. Under the sponsorship agreement with the Theatre administration, the Bank provided financial support for the production of new plays, and committed funds to help maintain the ticket prices at an affordable level. ROSBANK traditionally remains committed to community support and considers involvement in social affairs in the context of the corporate citizenship concept, which implies integration of economic goals and corporate social responsibility.

Finally, we are honored to work with the Moscow Kremlin Museums. Last year, the Bank provided assistance in arranging a unique exposition from the Louvre's collection, Treasures of the French Crown in the Kremlin, which laid the foundation for a series of exhibits featuring the most prominent collections of European royal families. This was the first time that this unique collection, which once belonged to Louis XIV, had traveled outside France, and it was displayed in Moscow with the Bank’s support. The exhibit was a noticeable event in Russian cultural life and provided an opportunity for viewers to see masterpieces from the stunning collections of the European monarchs. This is a reciprocal project, and so the Louvre will display treasures from the splendid collection of the Armory Chamber of the Moscow Kremlin, thereby bringing Russian art to new audiences abroad and strengthening relations between Russia and France, which are long-established historical partners.
