HISTORY
1992 Founded as commercial bank “Nezavisimost” by six trade and financial companies
1998 Acquired and re-capitalized by Interros Group, one of the Russa’s largest private investment companies (www.interros.ru)
The name changed to Commercial Bank “ROSBANK”
2000 Acquisition of UNEXIM BANK, formerly the core banking institution of Interros Group, following the restructuring of its obligations to domestic and international creditors
2002 Consolidation of businesses with Bank MFK, another principal banking institution within Interros Group, specialising in investment banking
2003 Debut on international capital markets through a $40 million syndicated loan due in 1 year
Acquisition by Interros group of OVK banking group, the second largest domestic network, aimed at integration of ROSBANK and OVK business.
2004 New medium-term strategy for 2004-2008 approved by the Board of Directors. Securutisation of future flow receiveables under credit cards for $300 million - first of its kind transaction debt-rasing out of Russian banking sector.
2005
Integration of OVK banking group into ROSBANK completed.
2006
In June French bank Societe Generale acquired a 10% minority stake in ROSBANK. In September 2006 Societe Generale increased it’s share in capital of ROSBANK to 20%.
